I too download the lossless format into Itunes and then to my ipod. My only issue is that there seems to be no way to have a seamless segue from song to song. Obviously this is a little bitt annoying in the middle of a jam, and though it is only a second or so of silence, I was wondering if there is any way to eliminate this problem?

iPods do not have gapless output, which is the problem. A while back, I signed a petition asking Apple to include gapless output in a new release of the iPod software. Hopefully they'll fix it sometime soon

So in regards to flac/shn. what I do is download either of those formats and then decode to wav and then download the wav's to my Ipod-correcto?

Yep.
You can also convert them, once they are in iTunes, to Apple Lossless Format, which sill sound the same and take up less space.

you can use the group songs feature, but I think this bascially makes 1 signle track, which I'm not a big fan of. I you want to export to CD, you can set the time between tracks to zero, but that doesn't do much good for ipods

a 2-second default gap is set by most burning software - iTunes included.

Look at Edit>Prferences>Burning in iTunes and you can reset the gap between songs to "none".
Hope this helps!
